After a little over a year of no activity, we have come back from nowhere! The group has expanded
and broadened our technological and research possibilities, and here we are again. Now maybe we won't
get as many e-mails asking if we're still around...
So anyway here's the hunt:
Our attending hunters that evening were me (of course), Bel, Mike, and Kevin. We decided to go back and
visit one of our favorite spots, the house foundation. For some members, it was their first experience
out there. Everything started out very normal, until we got to the house foundation itself. We cut through
the brush and we entered the area, to find that it was very overgrown. Not surprising, since it's been a
year since our last trip out there. From that point on, certain strange events ensued...
Kevin had brought his video camera out there which, for the most part, has always been a reliable
camera. Upon our equipment check prior to the hunt, we determined that we had at least 174 minutes
worth of good battery left. Strangely enough, as soon as Kevin brought the camera out to the house,
it went dead. So we turned to our polaroid camera, which again has never caused us any problems, and
we attempted to photograph the house foundation. Mike took a picture, and nothing came out. No
undeveloped film, no picture, no nothing. We had 10 shots left on the camera, and after Mike took
the picture, it said we had 9. I don't get it. And the third strange event that evening was that our
radios suddenly got very fuzzy once we entered the area of the house foundation. I have no idea why. None
of these things have ever been a problem before when we went to the house foundation...
So then we decided to check out this trail that we had noticed many times before.
We followed it down to a swampy area. All the while, we're hearing some strange noises off in the woods,
but nothing conclusive. We found a small man-made dam or water outlet type thing around the swamp. There,
next to this water outlet, was a Radio Flyer red wagon. It appeared to have paint drips on the body of
the wagon, and the wheels were rusted as if it had been sitting there for a while. Still, finding old
people's junk is nothing special, and we continued on. After some further investigation, we realized that
we no longer had any type of recording device that was functioning except for my handheld mini-tape recorder,
and we decided to call it a night.
We walked back to the cars and prepared to leave. While we were leaving, we looked up into the sky... There
were some strange shadows floating around up there, but nothing definitive at this time. It was definitely
an eerie sight!
At the end of the hunt, we regrouped and checked out ourselves and our cars. Bel's vehicle had some
scratches on it, but we couldn't tell if it was just from entering or leaving the woods. However, the
other vehicle definitely had some damage. We found scratches on the passenger side mirror, and the mirror
had become loose. We also found part of the rubber seal that surrounds the wheel well had been pulled - almost
as if someone had actually grabbed the piece and started peeling it back off of the truck.
Maybe it's just because I haven't been out there in so long, but I'd have to say that the area seemed
much more creepy this time. I just noticed more of an uneasy feeling while out there. I don't know what
that means, but we're definitely going to be investigating further!
Unfortunately, as you have just read, due to the fact that none of our devices were working properly
that night, I do not have any pictures to post of this hunt. We'll try to make sure our equipment functions
a little better next time!
One more creepy addendum to this hunt - the next day, when Kevin took his camera out of the case to
start charging the battery, it suddenly read that it was full again and did not require charging...
